It’s Valentines Day and Arnold has managed to have two dates; one with Ruth and one with his French pen-pal Cecile. Little does he know, Cecile is actually Helga in disguise, but the real Cecile appears suddenly and Arnold learns the truth about Ruth.

Harold challenges Arnold to a fight, and he is given 24 hours to live.

Arnold is putting on a magic show, but meanwhile Helga is having an adventure. She gets knocked out and experiences a strange dream where everyone is happier when she disappears.

Arnold and his friends will do anything to get into the World Records book.

Someone framed Eugene for pulling the fire alarm at school. Arnold creates a makeshift court in the cafeteria to interrogate his friends and figure out who the real culprit was.

Arnold picks up his Grandpa’s golden watch from the store. On the way home he sees a giant hole being made in the ground. When he looks inside, the watch falls out of his pocket and down into the sewers. Him and Gerald go down into the sewers to receive the watch, but they find that the ‘Sewer King’ has found it first.

Arnold’s pet pig Abner sees a cat through the window and runs outside to chase it, but he gets lost and wanders far away from home. Arnold realizes he is gone and organizes a search party to help find his pig.

Sally’s Comet is occurring so Arnold and Gerald collect and mail in cereal box tops to receive a telescope so they can observe it. The only problem is that the city is too bright for them to see the stars. They try to convince the city to turn off their lights.

Olga’s sister is coming home from college, but Helga feels insecure compared to how smart, talented, and popular she is. Helga changes one of her grades from an A to a B+, but this sends Olga into a deep depression as she has never not gotten an A before.

After Arnold’s pigeon is injured, he goes to meet and ask help from the man known a ‘Pigeon Man.’
